Q&A Plugin 1.6: More Direct Collaboration and More Targeted Analysis

Version 1.6 expands the collaboration and analysis capabilities of the Q&A Plugin. Users can now involve relevant people directly in questions and answers using @mentions. At the same time, the enhanced CSV export provides more flexibility for data analysis, while incremental loading improves performance for questions with extensive discussions.

Involve Relevant People Directly with @Mentions

The new @mention feature allows users to address other people directly in questions and answers.

When a user enters “@”, a user picker opens, allowing them to search for and select the relevant person. Mentioned users are highlighted in the content and can be accessed through their profile.

On supported platforms, mentioned users also receive a notification containing a deep link to the corresponding question. When a person is mentioned in an answer, the link takes them directly to the relevant section and highlights the answer.

This makes it easier to direct questions to specific colleagues, involve relevant stakeholders earlier and move discussions forward more efficiently.

The full availability of @mentions depends on the technical capabilities of the platform in use.

CSV Export with Optional Profile Fields

The existing CSV export has been enhanced. Selected profile fields of questioners can now be included when exporting data.

Alternatively, the export can be generated without personal profile information. This allows those responsible for the analysis to determine which information should be included.

Questions can therefore be analysed in a more targeted way and combined with relevant organisational data. Depending on the available and selected profile fields, recurring topics and developments can be assessed within their organisational context.

The exported data can then be used in BI tools, presentations or further analyses.

Improved Performance for Extensive Discussions

Performance on the question details page has also been improved.

Answers and associated comments are now loaded incrementally. As a result, questions with extensive discussions open faster and remain stable and usable even when they contain a large number of contributions.

This is particularly useful for knowledge areas in which questions are discussed over longer periods or receive many answers and comments.
