Version 4.6 introduces new capabilities for direct collaboration and more flexible analysis within the Ideation Plugin. At the same time, the release improves performance for ideas with extensive discussions and resolves an issue affecting the completeness of idea exports.
The main highlights of this release are @mentions and the enhanced CSV export with optional profile fields.
With the new @mention feature, users can address other people directly in idea descriptions and comments.
When a user enters “@”, a user picker opens and allows them to search for and select the relevant person. Mentioned users are highlighted in the text and can be brought into discussions more directly.
On supported platforms, mentioned users also receive a notification with a direct link to the relevant idea. For mentions in comments, the link takes the user directly to the relevant section and highlights the corresponding comment.
This makes collaboration within the idea process more direct and efficient. Questions can be addressed to specific people, relevant stakeholders can be involved earlier and discussions can move forward faster.
The availability of @mentions depends on the technical capabilities of the platform in use.
The existing CSV export has been enhanced. Selected profile fields of idea submitters can now be included in the export.
Administrators can define which information should be added. This may include data such as department, location or organisational unit.
This enables more targeted analysis and makes it easier to assess submitted ideas in their organisational context. The exported data can then be used in BI tools, presentations or further analysis.
At the same time, privacy remains configurable. Profile information can be excluded entirely when required.
The idea details page has also been optimised. Comments and replies are now loaded incrementally instead of being retrieved all at once when an idea is opened.
This is particularly useful for ideas with extensive discussions and a large number of contributions. The page opens faster and remains responsive even when many comments are available.
The release also resolves an issue in the idea export.
Content from custom form fields is now fully included in the export. This ensures that all relevant information is available for downstream analysis and reporting.
